At an elevation of 6461m, lies Mera peak the highest trekking peak in Nepal. Mera peak is among the very few places, which provide a better view of 'Everest' roof of the world. The panorama from the almost 6500m high peak is breathtaking-mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Kanchanjunga appears on the skyline. Since Mera peak is considered as a trekking peak, it is less technical & route is straightforward. 

The Mera peak journey starts once you land in the Khumbu area. Here you will be accompanied by local porters & prepare to scale Mera summit. En route, you will pass by pine forests, rhododendron forests & tranquil sherpa villages. 

Mera peak is best suited for novice climbers if you have already done high altitude trek, then Mera peak is a perfect adventure. Test your stamina & endurance climbing Mera peak.

Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu

Activities:

  • TIA to Kathmandu city, pickup
  • Kathmandu hotel check-in
  • Trek preparation & meet-up with guide
  • Collect all trekking permits & registration at one place

Day 2: Sightseeing In Kathmandu

Activities:

  • Visit UNESCO World heritage site- Boudhanath Pashupatinath, the monkey temple Swayambhunath
  • Explore city streets & traditional crafts such as pottery and weaving.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,800m) & trek to Chutanga (3,450m)

Activities:

  • Scenic flight to Lukla
  • A glimpse of Langtang, Rolwaling and Annapurna Himalayan Ranges
  • Tenzing Hillary Airport
  • Walk on the steep hillsides followed by pine and rhododendron forests

Day 4: Trek to Tuli Kharka (4,250m) via Zatrwa La

Activities:

  • The crossing of cross Zatrwa la pass
  • The crossing of Kalo Himal Ridge
  • Descend steeply to Tuli Kharka (big pasture)

Day 5: Trek to Gothey (3600m)

Activities:

  • Descend to Hinku valley of Gothey
  • A glimpse of local culture

Day 6: Trek to Thagnag (4,350m)

Activities:

  • Walk along the ridge of ridge of the Hinku Khola.
  • Pass through Gondishung, a summer herders’ settlement
  • Visit  200-year-old Gompa
  • Burn some juniper at the shrine, as an offering before scaling Mera peak

Day 7: Acclimatization day at Thagnag

Activities:

  • Acclimatize with the thin air
  • Optional visit to Sabal Tsho
  • Training session on climbing gears

Day 8: Trek to Khare (5,025m)

Activities:

  • Follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka
  • Stunning views of Charpate Himal
  • Discover Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers

Day 9: Climbing Practise session with climbing

Activities:

  • Setup gears for ice climbing session
  • Promising views of Mera La

Day 10: Trek to Mera base camp (5,350m)

Activities: 

  • Climb to the crest of the moraine above Khare
  • Reaching the pass Mera La
  • Views of gigantic Himalayas

Day 11: Climb to Mera high camp (5,750m)

Activities:

  • Set up on a high camp
  • Views of Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyu

Day 12: Summit day( 6476m) and descend to Khare

Activities: 

  • Put on crampons and rope up
  • Traverse to the slightly higher north summit.
  • Achieve Mera Summit
  • Witness views of - Mt. Everest (8,848m) Cho-Oyu (8,201m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Lobuche (6,145m), Chamlang
  • Retrace your steps to Khare after the climb

Day 13: Khare- Gothey

Activities:

  • Descend to Hinku valley 
  • Retrace steps back to Gothey

Day 14: Gothey- Tuli Kharka

Activities:

  • Climb up through the lush forest
  • walk on the west side of the Hinku Valley to Tuli Kharka

Day 15: Tuli Kharka- Lukla

Activities: 

  • Climb up to Zatrawa  La Top
  • Descend all the way To Lukla village
  • End of Trekking, no more walks

Day 16: Lukla- Kathmandu

Activities:

  • Sweeping flight to Kathmandu

Day 17: Departure from Kathmandu
