One of the well-admired trekking trails of Nepal, Manaslu Circuit Trek, stretches all the way from a remote village in Gorkha, Arughat to the Base of Mount Manaslu. Opened for the trekkers in 1991, Manaslu trek caters some of the best mountain panorama, magnificent highland culture and so many unexplored places with moderately thrilling adventure.

The popular Manaslu trekking route of 177 kilometres (110 mi) usually starts in Arughat Bazaar following an ancient salt-trading route ending two weeks later in Besisahar, which is the starting point of the Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu Day Tour


  • Visit UNESCO World heritage site- Boudhanath Pashupatinath, the monkey temple Swayambhunath
  • Explore city streets & traditional crafts such as pottery and weaving.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola


  • Drive through Nepalese countryside road featured with mountain vistas.
  • The bumpy ride from Dhanding Bensi to Arughat is thrilling

Day 4: Soti Khola - Maccha Khola


  • Hike through sal forests, climb ridge above Budi Gandaki

Day 5: Maccha Khola -Jagat


  • Cross theTharo Khola
  • Spot Small Hot Spring at Tatopani
  • cross suspension bridge on Budi Gandaki river

Day 6: Jagat - Deng


  • Ascend rocky ridge to salleri & descend to sirdibas
  • Cross a long suspension bridge till you reach Gurung village
  • Pass by millet fields to Ekle Bhatti
  • Walk along bamboo forest to the Deng Khola

Day 7: Deng - Namrung


  • Cross the Budhi Gandaki and climb to Rana(1910m)
  • Pass through forested lands to the contours of Ghap
  • En route to Prok Village, catch best view of Shringi Himal
  • Steep climb till Namrung.

Day 8: Namrung – Samagaon


  • Witness alluring views of Siringi Himal, Ganesh Himal & Mout Hiunchuli
  • Hike along the forested lands till Lihi village

  • Discover famous Ribung Gompa

Day 9: Acclimatization day: Samagaon - Pungyen gompa - Samagaon


  • Rest day for acclimatization
  • Get acquainted with the Sherpa & their rich culture
  • Catch great views from Pungyen Gompa

Day 10: Samagaon - Samdo


  • Descend to Budi Gandaki River
  • Discover Larkya la Trail
  • Pass Through juniper and birch forests
  • En route spot a large white kani

Day 11: Acclimatization day in Samdo


  • Take an optional hike to Samdo village
  • Discover ancient trade passes to Tibet
  • Catch views of Mt. Manaslu, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkya Peak
  • Spot beautiful mountain bird lophophorus

Day 12: Samdo - Dharamsala/Larkya B. C


  • Cross the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki
  • Catch larkya galcier around the valley of salka
  • Discover stone guest house, shelter Dharmashala(4450m)

Day 13: Dharamsala - Larkya la [5160m/16, 924 ft] - Bimthang(3720m)


  • Begin the journey from the north side of larkya glaciers, enjoy great views of Cho Danda & larkya Peak
  • Walk across moraines of the glacier & Make gradual ascent on the pass
  • Enjoy views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the Annapurna II.
  • Walk into low pastures & savour the revealing view of Mt. Manaslu

Day 14: Bimthang - Tilije


  • Descend from Bhimthang, cross a high pasture(Sangure Kharka)
  • Cross a bridge over Dudh Khola
  • Pass through rhododendron forest, follow through a narrow valley
  • Explore highest cultivated land at Karche valley
  • Discover a small village of Gho.

Day 15: Tilije - Tal


  • Enjoy stone-paved trail passing through a beautiful village
  • Cross bridge over dudh khola
  • Pass through mani wall and reach the Thonje village.

Day 16: Tal - Syange


  • Follow the trail to Chyamje village
  • Crossing Marshyangdi Khola

  • Drive from Syange to Kathmandu via Besi Sahar
